According to Imam Ali, the twenty-second characteristic of real Shi'a is their combining knowledge with action, and science with patience and tolerance. The Shiites avoid snap decisions in their conscious behavior. An inconsiderate and impious scholar who does not act upon his knowledge, and uses his knowledge to benefit from materialistic values has been condemned. For this reason, it has been stated in traditions that one who acts upon his knowledge is self-sufficient in what he does not know. Hence, those who seek knowledge for the sake of showing off are to blame, and it is recommended to acquire knowledge for divine purposes. Furthermore, it has been mentioned that seeking material world and not putting knowledge into practice are considered as blights on religiosity. Finally, those who act upon the commands of God the Almighty will enjoy divine knowledge. این متن قلمی شده درس اخلاق استاد مصباح در شرحی بر اوصاف واقعی شیعیان در کلام امیرمؤمنان علی علیه السلام است. آن حضرت نشانه بیست و دوم شیعه‌ی واقعی را این می دانند که شیعیان عمل را با علم و علم را با حلم و بردباری درآمیزد. شیعیان از شتابزدگی در رفتار آگاهانه خویش اجتناب می کنند. عالم بی پروا و بی تقوا که به علمش عمل نمی کنند. علم خود را وسیله‌ی دستیابی به منابع مادی قرار می دهد، نکوش شده است. به همین دلیل، در روایات آمده است که هرکس به آنچه می داند، عمل کند، از آنچه نمی داند کفایت می کند. ازاین رو، از علم آموزی برای فخرفروشی نکوهش و به کسب علم برای مقاصد الهی توصیه شده است. همچنین از دنیاطلبی و عمل نکردن به علم، به عنوان آفت دینداری یاد شده است. سرانجام کسانی که به دستورات خدای متعال عمل می کنند، از علم ربانی برخوردار خواهند شد. https://marifat.nashriyat.ir/sites/marifat.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/1_41.pdf
