However, they have confessed to the great sins in the supplications and plead for the Allah's Mercy with weeping and moaning. Is the confession of sin compatible with the position of infallibility? Using the documentary method, this paper seeks to solve this problem and find a way of gathering between the status of infallibility and the confession of sin. While rejecting its improbability, this paper discusses various possibilities for understanding and interpreting these words that shows compatibility between them. These probabilities show that the issuance of this prayers and the confession of sin from the infallible Imams never imply their true sinfulness. Some of these probabilities include construction in the form of training, forgiveness on behalf of the nation, reconstruction of the previous levels of perfection, experience of all types of worship, observance of the etiquette of the Close Ones, paying attention to the essential need and the extreme humbleness before God' Majesty. در نگاه شیعه، پیامبر اکرم صلی الله علیه و آله و سلم، حضرت فاطمه زهرا علیه السلام، امیرمؤمنان علی علیه السلام و یازده تن فرزندان ایشان علیهم السلام، از هرگونه رجس و آلودگی مطهرند و از خطا و خطیئه معصوم اند؛ ولی در عین حال، در مقام مناجات با خدا، به گناهان بزرگ اعتراف کرده اند و به ناله و التماس مغفرت طلبیده اند. آیا اعتراف به گناه با مقام عصمت سازگار است؟ این پژوهش به روش اسنادی درصدد حل این مسئله و کشف وجه یا وجوه جمع میان مقام عصمت و اعتراف به گناه است.     در این مقاله از احتمالات مختلفی برای فهم و تفسیر این سخنان بحث شده که ضمن رفع استبعاد، سازگاری میان آنها را نشان می دهد. این احتمالات معلوم می کند که صدور این ادعیه‌ی و اعتراف به گناه از ناحیه‌ی امامان معصوم علیهم السلام هرگز دلالت بر گناهکاری واقعی آنان ندارد. برخی از این احتمالات عبارتند از انشاء در مقام آموزش، استغفار از زبان امت، نظر به مراتب گذشته سیر کمالی خود، تجربه‌ی انواع عبادت، ادب متناسب با مقام مقربان، نظر به فقر ذاتی و سرافکندگی از نهایت کوچکی در مقابل عظمت باری تعالی. https://marifat.nashriyat.ir/sites/marifat.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/5_50.pdf
