abstract = {In recent years, Arba'een march has become such a unique phenomenon that it has people’s special attracted attention. This big public gathering affords many opportunities and threats which can be a subject of inquiry and a source of interest to experts of the various sciences. The research findings indicate that Arba'een march is a very suitable social opportunity that has numerous functions—economic, social, cultural, political, religious, military and security. This study refers to social functions of this big gathering, including: demonstrating the authority of Muslim world, delivering Ashura messages to the world, Muslims’ participating in a face-to-face meeting increasing synergy in various fields and helping to solve conflicts and disputes. In this article, the data is collected from library sources and observation and a descriptive-analytical method is used in this study. },

abstract_fa ={مراسم پیاده روی اربعین حسینی، در سال های اخیر به پدیده‌ی منحصربه فردی تبدیل شده که موجب تحیر جهانیان گردیده است. این اجتماع عظیم بشری، فرصت و تهدیدهای بسیاری را به دنبال داشته که شایسته است از سوی متخصصان علوم مختلف مورد بررسی و واکاوی قرار گیرد. یافته های پژوهش حاکی از این است که مراسم اربعین، یک فرصت و سرمایه‌ی عظیم اجتماعی برای جهان اسلام است که کارکردهای اقتصادی، اجتماعی، فرهنگی، سیاسی، مذهبی، نظامی و امنیتی پرشماری دارد. ازجمله‌ی کارکردهای اجتماعی این اجتماع عظیم بشری، می توان به نمایش اقتدار جهان اسلام، رساندن پیام های عاشورا به جهانیان، دیدار چهره به چهره مسلمانان و افزایش هم افزایی در زمینه های گوناگون، کاهش کشمکش ها و اختلافات اشاره کرد. در این پژوهش، گردآوری اطلاعات به روش کتابخانه ای و مشاهده ای صورت گرفته و به شیوه توصیفی ـ تحلیلی نگاشته شده است.},
