Yazid al-Ju'fi, one of his noble companions. Avoiding cruelty is one of the characteristics of the true believers from the viewpoint of Imam Baqir (PBUH), as his holiness says, "Do not oppress anyone, even if they oppressed you". Oppression is the opposite of justice and means exceeding. As a matter of fact, fulfilling human rights and avoiding oppression is the duty of Shiites. The origin of cruelty is ignorance, disregarding the happiness and attachment to the world, which are not the characteristics of believers and the real Shiites. This paper is the description of the types of oppression and its motives from the perspective of Imam Baqir (PBUH). این متن شرحی است بر وصایای امام محمدباقر علیه السلام به جابربن یزید جعفی، از اصحاب خاص آن حضرت. از نظر آن امام همام، یکی از اوصاف شیعیان پرهیز از ظلم است؛ اینکه اگر کسی به شما ظلم کرد، شما نباید به او ظلم کنید. ظلم در مقابل عدل و به معنای از حد گذشتن است؛ وظیفه شیعیان این است که باید حق افراد را رعایت کنند، و به حقوق آنان دست درازی نکنند. منشأ ظلم گاهی جهل و بی توجهی به سعادت دنیا و آخرت انسان است و گاهی هم دلبستگی به دنیا، مانع رعایت حقوق دیگران است و این هر دو، از ساحت مومنان و شیعیان واقعی به دور است.  این کلام تفسیر و شرحی است بر انواع ظلم و انگیزه های آن از منظر امام محمدباقر علیه السلام.
