Every government has a special approach to religious education. Using a descriptive-analytical method, this study aims to investigate this issue by reviewing the perspective of Machiavelli, liberalism and Islam in this field, and answer the question whether the government has a duty to the religious education of human beings or not. In this regard, Machiavelli argues that all the government's efforts is directed to maintaining power; In the view of liberalism, the aim is to satisfy material needs; But Islam, considering the material and spiritual needs of individuals, considers the duty of government beyond the natural and basic needs of the people and considers itself responsible for religious education and guiding individuals to the path of happiness; And this is what distinguishes religious government from secular government. بحث وظیفه یا عدم وظیفه‌ی حکومت در قبال تربیت دینی از مسائل مهم فلسفه سیاسی حکومت است. هر حکومتی موضعی خاص در برابر تربیت دینی دارد. این پژوهش با هدف بررسی این مسئله، با روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی ابتدا با بیان دیدگاه ماکیاول، لیبرالیسم و اسلام در این زمینه، به دنبال پاسخ به این سؤال است که آیا حکومت نسبت به تربیت دینی انسان ها وظیفه ای دارد؟ در این زمینه ماکیاول تمام تلاش حکومت را در جهت حفظ قدرت می داند؛ در دیدگاه لیبرالیسم برطرف کردن نیازهای مادی مدنظر بوده است؛ اما اسلام با توجه به نیازهای مادی و معنوی افراد، وظیفه حکومت را فراتر از نیازهای طبیعی و اولیه مردم دانسته و خود را نسبت به تربیت دینی و هدایت افراد به مسیر سعادت، مسئول می داند؛ و همین نکته، تمایز حکومت دینی با حکومت غیردینی را مشخص می کند. https://marifat.nashriyat.ir/sites/marifat.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/3_68.pdf
