Since knowing the meaning of life depends on knowing human beings, the way each person looks at himself will have a great impact on his perception of the meaning of life. Although Sadr al-Muta’allehin has not directly spoken about the meaning of life, by examining man and his characteristics, he has addressed the purpose of life, which is one of the meanings of "meaning of life". He believes that man has a goal that he must discover and direct all his actions, behavior and intentions towards achieving it. Using the analytical-descriptive method, in this article, we show that the truth of man is his intellective or rational soul, which has two powers of theoretical reason and practical reason. So the true perfection of human being depends on the development of his intellectual level. Taking into account the truth of man and his true perfection, man will have two intermediate and final goals in life. Proximity to God is the ultimate goal of human life with the realization of which man can reach true happiness in life. معنای زندگی یکی از مهم ترین مسائل فلسفی است که تمام افعال و افکار انسان ها با آن مرتبط است. ازآنجاکه شناخت معنای زندگی، متوقف بر شناخت خود انسان است؛ درنتیجه نوع نگاه هر فرد به خود، تأثیر زیادی در پاسخ او به چیستی معنای زندگی خواهد داشت. گرچه صدرالمتألهین به طور مستقیم از معنای زندگی سخن نگفته است؛ ولی با بررسی انسان و ویژگی های آن به هدف از زندگی که یکی از معانی «معنای زندگی» است، پرداخته و معتقد است که انسان دارای هدفی است که باید آن را کشف کند و تمام اعمال و رفتار و نیات خود را برای رسیدن به این هدف به کار ببندد. در این نوشتار به روش تحلیلی ـ توصیفی به دست می آوریم که حقیقت انسان به نفس ناطقه خویش است که دارای دو قوه‌ی عقل نظری و عقل عملی است؛ درنتیجه کمال حقیقی انسان به تکامل مرتبه عقلی آن است. با توجه به حقیقت انسان و کمال حقیقی آن، انسان دارای دو هدف میانی و نهایی در زندگی خواهد بود. قرب الهی هدف نهایی از زندگی انسان است که با تحقق آن، انسان به حیات و سعادت حقیقی می رسد. https://marifat.nashriyat.ir/sites/marifat.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/4_87.pdf
