The theologians need special knowledge, skills and methods to defend their opinions and overcome their opponents in theological debates and discussions. Among the various sciences that theologians use, history, which is an efficient science, has useful achievements for theology. The results of this study show that the science of history provides theologians with the information they need in theological debates. Without having historical information (about the history of nations, sects, religions and denominations, the emergence of theological sects and historical backgrounds), the theologian will not be able to participate in theological debates and overcome their opponents. In terms of the method and style of the debate, the methods of historical criticism provide the theologians with suitable teachings for criticizing the statements of the opponents. Using the descriptive-analytical method, the present article aims to explain the efficiency of history in the science of theology by showing the links between theology and history and citing appropriate evidence and examples. علم کلام یکی از علوم مهم اسلامی است که برای درک و فهم عقاید دین اسلام پدید آمده است. متکلمان در مناظرات و مباحث کلامی به منظور دفاع از عقاید خود و غلبه بر حریف، به دانش ها، مهارت ها و روش های خاصی نیاز دارند. در میان علوم مختلفی که متکلمان از آن بهره می برند، دانش تاریخ نیز به عنوان یک علم کارآمد واجد دستاوردهای مفیدی برای علم کلام است. نتایج این بررسی نشان می دهد که علم تاریخ، اطلاعات موردنیاز متکلمان را جهت استفاده در مناظرات و مباحثات کلامی در اختیار آنان قرار می دهد. بدون دانستن اطلاعات تاریخی (در باب تاریخ ملل و نحل، فرقه ها، ادیان و مذاهب، پیدایش فرق کلامی و پیشینه های تاریخی) متکلم قادر به شرکت در مباحثات کلامی و غلبه بر حریف نخواهد بود. از بُعد روشی و سبک مناظره نیز روش های نقد تاریخی، آموزه های مناسبی را برای نقد اظهارات رُقبا در اختیار متکلم می گذارد. مقالة حاضر بر آن است تا با روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی ضمن نشان دادن پیوندهای کلام و تاریخ، با استناد به شواهد و نمونه های مناسب به تبیین کارآمدی دانش تاریخ در علم کلام بپردازد. https://marifat.nashriyat.ir/sites/marifat.nashriyat.ir/files/article-files/8_84.pdf
