Achieving such a goal will require taking two important steps: first, explaining and analyzing the educational implications of verbal topics, which will be done using a descriptive-analytical method. Second, examining the process and how the implications are implemented, which will be addressed using field and experimental methods. Thus, creating an intermediary link between scientific and abstract discussions in Islamic theology and field and applied psychological and educational discussions will be one of the most important achievements of the interdisciplinary field of "educational theology". تامل در «کلام کاربردی»، به معنای رویکردی که در آن سطح مباحث کلامی از «انتزاعیات» به «کاربرد و عمل» ارتقا می‌یابد و تلاش می‌شود موضوعات کلامی جایگاه خود را در میدان‌های عملیِ فردی و اجتماعی بازیابند و نقش خود را در مواجهه با مسائل و معضلات جامعه اسلامی پیدا نمایند از ضرورت ورود تخصصی‌تر در جنبه‌های گوناگونِ «کاربرد»، پرده برمی‌دارد. بدین ترتیب پژوهش حاضر که با بررسی مستندات کتابخانه‌ای و به شیوه تحلیلی انجام گرفته کوشیده است با طرح موضوع نوین «کلام تربیتی» از دریچه کاربردیِ «تربیت» به مباحث کلامی بنگرد و غایت این بحث را در ایجاد منظومه‌ منسجم و هماهنگ مسائل تربیتی با اصول عقیدتی ترسیم نماید. دست‌یابی به چنین غایتی نیازمند برداشتن دو گام مهم خواهد بود: نخست تبیین و تحلیل دلالت‌های تربیتی موضوعات کلامی که با روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی انجام خواهد گرفت. و دوم بررسی فرآیند و چگونگی اجرایی شدن نتیجه دلالت‌ها که با بهره گیری از روش‌های میدانی و تجربی بدان‌ها پرداخته خواهد شد. بدین ترتیب ایجاد یک حلقه واسط میان مباحث دانشی و انتزاعی در کلام اسلامی با مباحث میدانی و کاربردی روانشناختی و تربیتی، از مهم‌ترین دستاوردهای حوزه مطالعات میان رشته‌ای «کلام تربیتی» خواهد بود.
