In the contemporary era, modernity and the dominance of virtual media have produced new psychological, cognitive, and social characteristics in adolescents, turning these features into major obstacles to effective religious education. This study aims to analyze the defining traits of today’s adolescents as key challenges to Islamic education. Using a descriptive–analytical method and a library-based approach, the research examines sources in youth sociology, media psychology, and Islamic educational foundations. Findings show that these challenges fall into two main categories: first, the effects of modernity, including individualism, materialism, moral relativism, and identity crises; and second, the influence of virtual space, which has led to generational gaps, a shift of authority toward celebrities, weakened traditional structures of authority, and reduced willpower due to constant exposure to instant stimuli. The study concludes that these characteristics are not superficial generational differences but fundamental challenges for Islamic education in the modern era. نظام تربیت اسلامی، با وجود اتکا بر اصول ثابت، در عمل با چالش‌های ناشی از تغییرات نسلی و تحولات محیطی مواجه است. در عصر حاضر، مدرنیته و سیطرۀ فضای مجازی ویژگی‌های روان‌شناختی، فکری و اجتماعی تازه‌ای در نوجوانان ایجاد کرده که به موانع جدی در مسیر تربیت دینی تبدیل شده‌اند. هدف این پژوهش، تبیین ویژگی‌های نوجوان امروز به‌عنوان چالش‌های اصلی پیش‌روی تربیت اسلامی است. این مطالعه با روش توصیفی‌ـ‌تحلیلی و رویکرد کتابخانه‌ای، منابع جامعه‌شناسی جوانان، روان‌شناسی رسانه و مبانی تربیت اسلامی را بررسی کرده است. یافته‌ها نشان می‌دهد این چالش‌ها در دو محور قابل تحلیل‌اند: نخست، پیامدهای مدرنیته از جمله فردگرایی، مادی‌گرایی، نسبی‌گرایی اخلاقی و بحران هویت؛ و دوم، تأثیرات فضای مجازی که به تفاوت‌های نسلی، تغییر مرجعیت به سلبریتی‌ها، تضعیف ساختارهای اقتدار و کاهش اراده در اثر تحریک‌پذیری لحظه‌ای می‌انجامد. نتایج بیانگر آن است که این ویژگی‌ها تفاوت‌های سطحی نسلی نیستند، بلکه چالش‌های بنیادین تربیت اسلامی در عصر جدید محسوب می‌شوند.
