Abstract The present article deals with this question: is it possible to extract clear rules for the interaction between members of the society and the government from among the propositions of Nahj al-Balagha? Are there any rules by following which we can prevent the risk of getting into the situation of societies that, by ignoring the rules of favorable interaction, caused their own humiliation and downfall? How can we have dignity and pride and provide a model for today's societies? In response to these questions, library and document method were used to collect data, and the descriptive method and content analysis of the extracted propositions were used for data analysis. The results of this research are presented in two parts: rules on the interaction between the government and the people, and rules on the relationship between the people and the government. The first part includes rules such as being responsible, accepting criticism, maintaining moderation and fairness in dealing with people, avoiding favoritism, etc. The second part includes rules such as loyalty to the government, overt and covert benevolence towards the government, responding to the government's demands, and obedience to the decrees of the Islamic government.
