Abstract
Based on Islamic sources, faith is considered the true value which brings happiness in this world and the hereafter. Other values are considered as requirements, results, and branches of faith if they have certain criteria, and if not, they only help humans to achieve this true value without leading them to happiness in this world and the hereafter by themselves. Three components are necessary for the realization of faith: first, knowledge of true faith and its constituents, because the realization of faith will not be feasible without knowledge. However, possessing knowledge alone is not sufficient, because there have been disbelieving scholars. The obvious examples of this group are Pharaoh and Iblis. The second component is the motivation for being committed to the means of achieving knowledge. Sometimes the conditions for having the above-mentioned motivation are not favorable and despite possessing knowledge, one is hindered from having faith. But if the knowledge is acquired and the hindrance is removed, the third component, i.e. taking on commitment and acting in accordance with knowledge essentials, is dealt with, which is the free will that should exist in faith. Because of free choice and will power, faith is considered a true value and other moral and divine values are realized accordingly.
