Islamic humanities, as a discipline that explains human and social relations based on religious foundations, stand in contrast to Western humanities grounded in secular premises. These sciences are established upon revelation, reason, and Islamic ijtihad. Among the prominent thinkers in this field is Ayatollah Mohammad-Taqi Mesbah Yazdi, who argued that the development of Islamic humanities requires precise and systematic jurisprudential foundations. This study, employing a descriptive-analytical method, examines the jurisprudential bases of Islamic humanities from his perspective. The findings indicate that Mesbah Yazdi emphasized ijtihad as a scientific method, interpreting Islamic humanities within the framework of religious knowledge, and considered the principles of jurisprudence an effective structure for organizing their concepts. He further asserted that Islamic humanities should be advanced through the integration of reason and transmitted sources, dynamic ijtihad, and coherence with Islamic teachings. The study concludes that Mesbah Yazdi’s jurisprudential approach provides a suitable model for the formulation and expansion of Islamic humanities, paving the way for both theoretical and practical development. Consequently, the ijtihadi method represents one of the most important strategies for producing indigenous humanities that correspond to the needs of Islamic societies.
