This study examines the concept of knowledge from the perspective of Allameh Mohammad-Taqi Mesbah-Yazdi, as knowledge constitutes a fundamental pillar for human cognition and development, and its thorough analysis is essential in the process of Islamizing the humanities. The main objective of the research is to explore the notion of knowledge, its distinction from other forms of understanding, the relationship between knowledge and action and perception, and its position within the cosmic and social order of an Islamic society. The research employs a descriptive-analytical method based on content analysis of Mesbah-Yazdi’s works in Islamic philosophy and epistemology, complemented by library sources. Findings indicate that, according to Mesbah, knowledge can be classified into intuitive (present) and acquired forms, and comprehending these types is crucial for epistemological and anthropological analysis. Knowledge maintains a direct relationship with action, as action devoid of knowledge loses its divine orientation. Moreover, the process of perception develops through the interaction of knowledge, sensory experience, and the human self, with knowledge playing a foundational role in guiding this process. In the cosmic framework, knowledge functions as a light illuminating the path to human perfection, serving as a basis for the advancement of both the individual and Islamic society. Therefore, Mesbah’s perspective provides a substantive epistemological foundation for Islamizing the humanities, fostering intellectual, cultural, and societal progress.
