This study investigates the existential duality of humanity through the lens of mystical exegesis of verse Rami (Qur’an 8:17), focusing on the human dimension (material limitations and natural needs) and the truthful dimension (potential for connection to divine truth), and their implications for Islamic ethical systems. Employing content analysis of Islamic mystical texts—including works by Ibn Arabi, Sayyid Haydar Amuli, and Kashani—the research centers on concepts such as nafilah (supererogatory closeness), fara’idh (obligatory duties), wahdat al-wujud (unity of existence), and tawhid al-af’al (divine unity in actions). Findings reveal that mystical interpretations of this verse, emphasizing the coexistence of human and divine agency (“You threw, but it was God who threw” ), provide a framework for deeper understanding of servitude ethics (e.g., sincerity, piety), personal ethics (e.g., chastity, wisdom), and social ethics (e.g., justice, responsibility). This approach positions humans as dual-dimensional beings: the human dimension facilitates servitude, while the truthful dimension embodies the station of divine vicegerency. Furthermore, mystical symbols such as “tears and fire” clarify the interplay between these dimensions, transforming ethical instruction from a didactic process into a dynamic engagement. To enhance ethical learning, pedagogical models rooted in constructivism and problem-solving strategies can integrate symbolic and allegorical elements from these exegetical insights into educational practices.
