Abstract
This research aims to investigate the position and perceptual function of the heart in the Holy Quran and compare it with contemporary findings in neuroscience. The main issue of the research is whether the heart in the Quran is considered merely a biological organ or the center of emotions, or does it have a more transcendent and perceptual role, and what is meant by "heart" in the relevant verses. The research method is descriptive-analytical and is based on the analysis of Quranic verses with a special focus on the interpretation of Al-Mizan by Allama Tabataba'i, as well as the study of modern achievements in neuroscience. The research findings show that the heart in the Quran is not only the center of emotions, but also one of the tools for realizing human understanding, reasoning, and perception. On the other hand, the analysis of neuroscience results indicates that neuronal and cardiac activities are not the true cause of perception, but rather have a numerical and background-forming role in the perception process. Overall, this research reveals a meaningful convergence between religious teachings and scientific findings in explaining the truth of human perception.
